Music Education Grant Application Forms

The Canadian Society for the Recording Arts OBJECTIVE is to assist in the advancement of music education.

The CSRA will subsidize eligible institutions by providing grants and bursaries to successful applicants / institutions that provide a curriculum for music education, including music departments in schools, universities and colleges as well as rural community music education programs. To qualify for bursaries and grants, independent applicants or institutions must currently be operating in a deficit or with limited funds.

The CSRA may provide a grant of up to a maximum of $10,000.00 which may represent up to 100% of the total eligible budget.

To Be Eligible

* The applicant must be a Canadian institution / organization located in a Canadian municipality.
* Organizations or institutions that apply must be currently operating in a deficit or with limited funds.
 

Eligible Costs

* Are only those incurred after the application has been received by the CSRA
* Are only those incurred in Canada at Canadian facilities, and for Canadian citizens/ landed immigrants.
* Are only those indicated on the budget page of the application.
   

Maximum Grants Available To Artists

* An artist may receive a maximum of one award during CSRA's fiscal year.
   

Evaluation Process

* Applications are reviewed by an independent evaluation panel comprised of music instructor teachers, professors, and education professionals.
* Applications will be assessed based on the urgency of the financial support required, the quality of the music program and the applicants intended outcome of receiving said funds.
* Please include in your Bio the length of time you have been performing as a professional musician, etc. The panel can reject a proposal if it is deemed incomplete.
* Only those applicants recommended by the evaluation panels are considered by the Board of Directors who make the decision regarding CSRA's financial commitment.
* Processing and evaluation of applications will take approximately 12 weeks. All applicants will be contacted by mail when results are available.
 

 

Important Notes / Recommendations

* All applications must be legible, otherwise they cannot be processed. Applications must be completed in ink.
* All required information must be completed on a current original CRSA supplied form. Applications may be downloaded from the CSRA website but the layout must not be modified.
* Program guidelines may be subject to change and will be applied to any application submitted.
* Materials will be returned only if a self addressed, stamped envelope is enclosed, otherwise materials will be disposed of immediately. Please ensure that your self addressed, stamped envelope is large enough to accommodate your complete package and that sufficient postage is attached.
* The CSRA reserves the right to refuse any application for any reason.
* If you are successful in receiving funding from the CSRA, please note these funds must be reported on your income tax return.
